Special Screening of Award-Winning Surinamese Film "Wan Lobi Tori"

To commemorate United Nations Week, SID-Washington, in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization (Regional Office of the World Health Organization), the Department of Global and Community Health and the Center for Global Studies of George Mason University present a screening of the film Wan Lobi Tori, "A Love Story," followed by an expert panel discussion.

Wan Lobi Tori is an "edutainment" project - combining education and entertainment - focusing on HIV/AIDS, youth, and reproductive health.  This 40 minute film is a production of Projekta/CAST2 productions for PAHO/WHO.

Panelists: Dr. Andrew Bickford, Assistant Professor, Dept of Sociology and Anthropology, George Mason University; Dr. Pauline Ginsberg, Senior Visiting Research Fellow, Center for Global Studies, George Mason University; Dr. Rafael Mazin, Regional Advisor on HIV/STI Prevention and Comprehensive Care, PAHO/WHO; Dr. Sofia Leticia Morales, Senior Advisor for the Millennium Development Goals, Unit Chief, Healthy Settings/SDE, PAHO/WHO; and Dr. Loretta Normile, Assistant Professor, College of Health and Human Services, George Mason University.
