Please join SID-Washington’s Education for Development Workgroup for a special discussion on the progress, priorities, and challenges of the Education for All (EFA) movement.

Panelists:

Dr. Cream Wright, UNICEF Associate Director and Head of Education

Dr. Joe Carney, USAID Director of Education

In 2000, the international community set six goals to meet the learning needs of all children, youth, and adults by 2015. At the end of 2007, the High-Level Group on EFA met in Dakar. The meeting marked the midpoint toward the 2015 goals and focused on equity, quality, and financing of education. Dr. Wright and Dr. Carney attended the meeting and will present an insider’s view, highlighting key issues that emerged from the meeting and discussing priorities and challenges going forward. After their brief presentations, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas with the panelists.
