Emi joined SID-US in January 2024 as a Program Associate. As a current junior at the University at Albany, SUNY, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics and a Bachelor of Art in Political Science, Emi aspires to foster a career in the realm of international development.

Having Argentine heritage, Emi’s first language was Spanish, and he continues to visit during summer and winter breaks. Consequently, watching the political, economic, and environmental situation unfold in Argentina inspired him to pursue international development with a focus in sustainability and development finance. As a Fund Manager and Eco-Representative for his university’s Office of Sustainability, he developed a sense of both on-the-ground and macro-level sustainability efforts that can be successful. Furthermore, as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, he deepened his interest in international development and development finance by studying the effects of remittances on local economies and policies.

Outside of international development, Emi has other interests that he pursues in his free time like tennis, rock climbing, skiing, and learning French.
